Frequently Asked Questions
To maintain your T-1000 unit's Warranty - Extremely Important: Notice: Failure to follow this recommended step or direction for your TherOzone machine may void your warranty. It is extremely important that you do not overfill the bottles with water , see "maximum fill line" instructions below.
Placing the Maximum Fill Line Sticker onto your Water Bottle
Reports Back from our T-1000 Beta-Testers Most common causes of T-1000 unit returns to Therozone 98% of the returns are related to the degrees of moisture/water found inside the T-1000 unit. TherOzone engineers have developed a scale of 1 - 4, with 4 being used to describe the intensity of the damage to the T-1000 unit and its water contamination. We have found that the higher the "number," the greater the damage, and the greater degree of water contamination. The only way we can duplicate this amount of water contamination in the laboratory is by: (1) Overfilling water bottle (above the maximum fill line); (2) Transporting the T-1000 unit with the water bottle filled with water; or (3) Storing the T-1000 unit on its side with the water bottle attached, still containing water. Servicing your T-1000 unit: What servicing does my T-1000 need? Aside from the female coupler replacement at approximately 40-45 hours of use (see clock) at this point TherOzone is not aware of any necessary servicing for the T-1000 Unit. Do I need to be concerned about changing filters or affecting the air intake? There are no replaceable filters nor any filters needed to dry the ambient intake air. A special feature of your T-1000 unit is that it has a self-renewing system that dehumidifies ambient air and helps you avoid costly replacement filters. IMPORTANT - The Female Coupler: To date the only item we have determined needs servicing is the gray colored female coupler which holds the bottle to the T-1000 unit. After 40-45 hours of use (see T-1000 clock) this coupler will need to be replaced and a new coupler can be purchased at the TherOzone Products store online. When the coupler needs to be replaced you will not be able to have the bottle “click” into place properly and a gap will be noticed as in the picture below. The installation process is relatively easy involving unscrewing the coupler that is attached to the T-1000 Unit and then screwing the replacement female coupler in its place. ![]() Where is the T-8000 or T-1000's Time Clock Located? T-8000 or T-1000 Clock Located on the back of the T-8000 or T-1000 unit is an LED “hour clock” that registers every minute the unit is processing your aqueous ozone (e.g., 12 cycles @ 5 minutes = 1 hour of use). The purpose of the clock it to identify the amount of time the T-8000 or T-1000 has been functioning. The T-8000 Clock is used to identify the amount of usage which may affect the limited warranty. The limited warranty is good for 1-year from the date of purchase or 300 hours of operation, determined by the clock on the back of the T-8000 unit (whichever comes first). For instance, with the T-1000 the female coupler will need to be replaced in approximately 40-45 hours of use. The installation process is relatively easy involving unscrewing the coupler that is attached to the T-1000 and then screwing the replacement female coupler in its place. The female coupler is available at the TherOzone Product section of this website, to go to there click here. Please note that it is NOT necessary to change the coupler until it stops clicking the bottle in place.
T-1000 Unit Function: How do I know that the T-1000 unit is working properly and to its maximum efficiency? You will need to purchase a CHEMetrics Test Kit K-7402 which is available at the TherOzone Products store online. Please note the CHEMetrics Test Kit K-7402 only measures up to 2.0ppm +/- 0.3ppm and your T-1000 unit produces up to 4.0ppm +/- 0.2ppm, so you will need to follow TherOzone's specific dilution instructions to properly evaluate the aqueous ozone production of your T-1000 unit. Does the blue light effectively indicate a 'saturation level' of ozone or is it just a time measurement? Yes, the blue light generally registers the saturation level which is based on 5 minutes, 15 seconds. If you are using distilled or reversed osmosis water the complete cycle is 5 minutes, 15 seconds. You can press the reset button and start the timed cycle again at any time. Please note if your model has not be upgraded the blue light will not turn on until 10 minutes. How long is the T-1000 expected to function? The T-1000 has a one year-limited warranty and the internal air compressor has been rated by its manufacturer at approximately 5,000 hours or 30,000 cycles. The cooling fans have been rated by its manufacturer at approximately 50-70,000 hours of use. At this time we are not aware of a "life-span" for your T-1000 unit however it would be a good idea take note of the time clock/counter on the back of the machine. Is it possible that there may be odors associated with the T-1000 Unit? You should not smell an odor while it is running. If you do it is possible that you may not have the bottle completely snapped on (see steps 3 through 6). However, once you remove the bottle and the ozone has bubbled into the water you can detect "off gassing" of the aqueous ozone. Humans can smell as little as .05 parts per million (ppm) of ozone. Specific questions about water usage: Can purified water be used rather than distilled water? The maximum concentration of dissolved ozone in water is best achieved using distilled water. Any amount of contaminants in the water will limit the final parts per million (ppm) of dissolved ozone in the water. With the old T-1000 unit we found that the more contaminants in the water the lower the concentration of the aqueous ozone. The T-8000’s Ozone generator is now so powerful that it can work with either distilled water or Reverse Osmosis (RO) water at room temperature. For highest concentration and longest 1/2 life we suggest you use chilled distilled water. If you do not have distilled water then RO water will work just fine if the measured dissolved solids are 6-8 ppm. The one big difference between chilled water versus room temperature water is that the half-life of the chilled water is longer allowing for use over a longer period of time. Can the leftover distilled water be reused to make another batch? Yes - it is just more purified. Are there any time constraints on rerunning the remaining distilled water? Can it only be reused one time, or more than once? You may use the "already previously ozonated water" over as many times as you wish. However please make sure to never refill the bottle above the "TherOzone Maximum Fill Line." Since immediate exposure is best for killing bacteria and virus, how long will the ozonated water be a viable agent to kill bacteria and virus? The half life of the aqueous ozone is 20-30 minutes. Is there a recommended contact exposure time for a complete kill of bacteria/virus? Recommended exposure time is 2 minutes. |
