Instructions for Lubricating the T-8000 Coupler

Instructions for Lubricating the T-8000 Coupler (pdf Version)

Your T-8000 will come already lubricated and you will not necessarily need to apply lubrication during its initial phase of use.  However if at any time the (1) TherOzone Pressure Bottle does not easily slide on or off the male coupler, or (2) if the turning of the bottle to seal the coupler does not easily glide in either direction, then the silicone lubrication will need to be applied as follows.

Use only the silicone grease provided to you by TherOzone.  Apply a small amount to a gloved finger as shown below.  Too little is better than too much.  A thin film of silicone is all that is required to maintain the smooth operation of the coupler.

O-RINGS:  When applying the silicone grease to the two o-rings on the T-8000 coupler, start on the side of the coupler opposite the ozone exit port (Fig. 2 above).  Avoid applying silicone grease over this port.  Excess lubricant will plug the port.

TIP:  After applying the silicone grease to the two o-rings use the excess silicone on the tip of your finger and apply to the coupler as shown below.  This will lubricate the o-rings inside the T-8000 pressure bottle.  Avoid blocking the vent port (Fig. 1 above) and the ozone port (Fig. 2 above).

If silicone grease should get into either the ozone exit port or the ventilation port use the smooth end of a cotton swab to extract the excess.  If either port is completely blocked with silicone grease the  T-8000 unit will not function properly.  Do not use the cotton end of your cotton swab as fibers may contaminate these ports.

If you have lubricated the T-8000 and the pressure bottle still does not easily glide on and off or seal and be removed easily it is likely that the "O" rings on the coupler will need to be replaced.  In that case seeInstructions for Replacing the "O" Rings for the T-8000
